Justin Bishop is a Melbourne-based interior designer whose work is defined by restraint, materiality, and a deep respect for architectural context. Grounded in a classic sensibility, his interiors draw on heritage while remaining quietly contemporary.

With over two decades of experience, he works closely alongside architects and builders from the earliest stages of a project, shaping homes where interior and architecture are conceived as one. Rather than following trends, Justin begins with a clear vision of the finished interior, how it will feel, function, and endure over time.

Each project is guided by tone, texture, and proportion, favouring balance over excess and longevity over immediate impact. His work is recognised for a layered, often subtly masculine sensibility, where oak, stone, linen, and softened brass sit alongside carefully selected antique and contemporary pieces. The result is interiors that feel calm, cohesive, and deeply resolved.

Working across a range of residential and select commercial projects throughout Australia, Justin oversees each project from concept through to completion. His service extends beyond decoration, encompassing spatial planning, material direction, custom furniture, and detailed project coordination, ensuring every element is resolved with clarity and intent.

Justin’s work has been featured in Australian House & Garden, where he was named among the Best of the Best in Australian interior design. His projects have also been showcased at Como by Design, The Art of Dining at the National Gallery of Victoria, and Decor + Design Melbourne.

He is also the first designer to establish a dedicated showroom within Schots Restoration Emporium, designing a bespoke space within the landmark building.

The result is a body of work that feels considered rather than constructed — interiors that settle into place and continue to reveal their character over time.
